Scott Elia

Scott joined the library board in 2007.

Scott retired in 2022 with more than 20 years of healthcare information technology experience. He worked at Community General Hospital, Health Alliance of CNY, and Upstate University Hospital. Scott served as president of the Skaneateles Library board from 2012 to 2018, a crucial period for the library that included joining the OCPL Library system, hiring our exceptional current director Nickie Marquis, and, most importantly, assuring the financial stability of the library by securing public funding in 2016. Most recently, Scott co-chaired the library’s Site Selection Committee, which secured the future Fennell Street site, and he currently serves as co-chair of the new Building Committee.

Fun facts: Scott and his wife Teri live in the village and raised two daughters in Skaneateles. Their residence is one of the oldest homes in Skaneateles and, as a hobby, they enjoy working on renovation projects.
