Tech Help at the Library

Tech questions? We can help! Bring in your device and let us help you learn to use all of the free content offered through the library, as well as beginner technology skills.

Drop-In Help: Tuesdays, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Can’t make it during drop-in hours? Appointments are available. Please give us a call at 315-685-5135 to schedule.

Learn about:

  • Computer, tablet and smartphone basics
  • Downloading eBooks and audiobooks with Overdrive
  • Downloading movies, music, audiobooks and eBooks with Hoopla
  • Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel basics
  • Google Drive
  • Social media for beginners (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, Snapchat)

Before you arrive:

  • Have a clear goal of what you would like to learn
  • Bring all the necessary passwords needed to access your accounts
  • Be sure to bring in the device you need help with – along with power cords

Be aware that we are unable to troubleshoot malfunctioning devices, replace physical parts on a device or remove computer viruses. Assistance will be given on a first come, first served basis.

Digital Learning Classes

There’s a lot to learn when it comes to computers and technology these days, and the library is here to help! Attend one of our digital learning programs to learn about a variety of tech topics. Topics will be repeated upon request. Input on new class topics is always appreciated – let us know what you’d like to learn!

All library events are held in Library Hall unless otherwise noted. Library Hall is located on the second floor and is only accessible by stair; there is no elevator access.
