While OCPL works to get us back online, we’re still checking out books, etc. at the library – and Overdrive/Libby, Hoopla and Kanopy are working!
(The catalog, circulation system and databases are still unavailable).

Explore Summer

Read, learn & have fun!

Skaneateles Library sponsors a variety of opportunities to create, learn, play and read more during the summer! Kids and teens are encouraged to complete different challenges and win prizes throughout July and August.

2019 Explore Summer Programs

Toddlers 7 Year Olds can collect “Library Loot” as a way to earn prizes during Explore Summer. Each day you check out books at the library, you’ll receive a coin. Save your coins to purchase items in our “Library Loot” store like coloring books and Play-Doh.

8 12 Year Olds can complete activities from our Explore Summer booklet. For each activity completed, kids get a raffle ticket and can enter to win prizes like tickets to WonderWorks and gifts certificates.

Teenagers can complete an Explore Summer bookmark. We know that teens have required reading during the school year, so during the summer we want to encourage teens to find books that really spark their individual interests. Teens can read whatever they want and earn raffle tickets for chances to win prizes like movie tickets and gift certificates to the Skaneateles Bakery or Skaneateles Skoops!

Learning over the summer is incredibly important to avoid summer learning loss. Our programs are designed to get kids moving, learning and reading in ways that inspire curiosity and the love of discovery. All activities are free and open to the public.

Check our online calendar for up-to-date information about special summer performances and programs.
