2024 Explore Summer!

Explore Summer is an initiative that inspires our community to learn, read and explore all summer long. All summer long, we’re hosting programs for ALL ages including story times, book clubs, outdoor activities, lectures and much more!

Explore Summer Kick-off Party
Wednesday, June 26 from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM 

Get the scoop on summer reading at our annual kick-of party! Attendees can register for summer reading, eat free ice cream, share doodles and advice, add to our community painting, and help us chalk the walk. Yard games will be set out for summer chilling and we’ll be collecting non-perishable items for the Skaneateles Ecumenical Food Pantry. Come for the ice cream social, stay for the community vibes.

All ages are welcome.

WAYS TO PARTICIPATE

Toddlers to 2nd Grade

Toddlers to kids going into 2nd grade will complete activities throughout the summer at home and at the library. When kids finish the activities in their booklets, they are invited to attend our Explore Summer Celebration Thursday, August 22nd from 4:30 – 6:30 PM.


3rd to 6th Grade

Kids going into 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grades will complete activities throughout the summer at home and at the library. Every activity you complete gives you a chance to win a local gift card. When kids finish the activities in their booklets, they are invited to attend our Explore Summer Celebration Thursday, August 22nd from 4:30 – 6:30 PM.

7th thru Adult

Read, Read, Read! Stop by the library to receive an Explore Summer book mark. Bring your completed book mark back to the library  and receive a ticket for each book you read. Each ticket is an entry for our end of summer raffle prizes!
