Events at the Library – December 2019

The Prevention of Domestic Violence
Tuesday, December 3rd at 6:30 PM
In this talk, Loren Cunningham (Director of Community Engagement and Prevention Strategy at Vera House) will discuss how rigid gender norms can promote or contribute to gender-based violence. The public is invited to come to listen and discuss ways they can take an active role in the prevention of domestic violence. This program is in collaboration with the ZONTA Club of Skaneateles and Vera House. No registration.

Holiday Card Making
Thursday, December 5th at 2:00 PM & 6:30 PM
Make a few unique holiday cards to send to your friends and family. All supplies will be provided. Free. Both sessions will be the same. No registration.

Open Minecraft
Monday, December 9th from 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM
Drop-in after school to play Minecraft Education Edition on our laptops or bring your own device. Laptops are limited and kids may have to work in pairs. No registration.

Cookbook Club: Holiday Party
Monday, December 9th at 6:30 PM
This club meets once a month to share a potluck style meal. All you have to do is bring a prepared dish to share and the recipe that inspired you. Registration appreciated.

Skaneateles Library Board Meeting

The Library Board is made up of community members who volunteer their time and skills to further the mission of the library. All meetings are open and the public is welcome to attend.

Guitar Concert: Music School of CNY Holiday Concert
Saturday, December 14th at 7:30 PM
The Music School of CNY Classic Guitar Ensemble is a talented group of music students dedicated to promoting the classic guitar literature and its rich history throughout the community. The group performs a wide variety of music representing many cultures from around the world dating from the Renaissance to the present day. The ensemble at times features additional instruments and performers to achieve a rich, dynamic and full range of sound. These students are studying with John Ferrara, who also performs with and directs the group. Free. No registration.

DIY Gifts
